I am currently in the process of rediscovering my passion for painting and visual art.  Since getting my BFA from Indiana University my output has ebbed and flowed dramatically over the years.  In addition to my work in visual arts I've always dedicated a lot of my time to creating music.  Combine that with parenthood and the trappings of a daily job/life I've given myself plenty of excuses for not getting more work done.  I'm hoping to bring a new commitment and productivity to my work this year and setting up this site is one of the first steps.  I am primarily a painter,  but over the years I have found that photography has played an important role in my artistic life.  The work mostly consists of interiors, cityscapes and landscapes  with the occasional side trip down a more stream of consciousness abstract exploration and sci-fi themes.  I think the styles feed off and compliment one another.   Although I have had periods where the paintings roll out slow, through it all I've always pursued my love of photography as an ends to itself but also for inspiration on current and hopefully future paintings.  My main focus revolves around composition and color.  Together they can create an opportunity for meditation and to actively piece a compositional puzzle together from whatever the subject matter it is.  It's a chance to find balance, novelty and harmony in an often out of balance and chaotic world.
